Be Keen on the Bin

I am a member of a small club called The Zenith. We have a soccer team which is now very famous. But it was for one of our member Bill who played for one of the famous club of the USA. Since then when he played for the American Club, our club became famous. But for Bill it was not an easy task.
One of the managing staff of that club had seen Bill's talent in one of the our home ground games and offered him to sign for them for two million dollars. But Bill had to reach there by his own.
We, the members of the Zenith decided to collect the passage money for Bill. It was around $2500 needed for passage money and other expenses. I gave them an idea to collect the money by recycling some thrown out things and making them in use or by selling them who could use them. We had only 2 months in our hand.
At that time (year 2001) I knew a business house who would collect old transistors out of forsaken electrical appliances. My plan was that we should supply a leaflet with the local news paper urging the people of our locality and neighbors to put their old and worn out TV, Radio, Computers and other electronic sets in the trash bin out side their houses. I also suggested that we should let them know why we needed them and should urge them to do this little favor for the boy of their locality who might bring fame for their city.
We moved to the local municipality to help us collecting and storing those items in a place. The municipality was agreed at once when they had heard of the cause. Now, we needed a mechanic who could part with the transistors from them and could recognize the good ones. We offered the man a lump sum $200 for the task. Fortunately, we got a man who was a good mechanic and who had agreed to work with the pay we offered him.
Nothing was left. The electronic sets started coming and the mechanic had his operation on them. I took the charge to sell the transistors to that company.
We were able to collect more than $3500 within a month. We had more than what we needed.
