Boy Scout Fundraiser

My son has been in Boy scouts since he was very young. We have an annual candy fundraiser to raise funds for the troop.
Some years we have done M&M's and other years we have done chocolate bars.
The first attack at selling the candy usually comes from the parents taking a supply of candy into work or school and selling them to co-workers. My policy is to always buy candy when my co-workers are selling and this insures that they will buy when you are selling. This doesn't give the boys much of an opportunity to participate but it does get the fundraiser off to a good start.
The next step is to have the boys set up tables outside local stores after school and on weekends to sell candy. We have the boys organize this with an adult standing by as a chaperone.
We don't give individual prizes ,however we do recognize the boys accomplishments with a rating board posted in the scout hut. The boys are rewarded in that the proceeds go to help finance their summer scout trips.
