Cajun Softball Girls Fundraiser

This past Saturday, The Petal High School Girls Fast Pitch Softball team raised over $6000.00 by selling plate lunches that included Jambalaya (which was made by the coaches dad), white beans, and bread. I was also served with a McAlister's glass of homemade tea. It was a large event which started several weeks prior. Word was spread that the girls were having another fund raiser. There is never posters or such put up; its just the spread of word by mouth. So each girl and anyone else who wanted to participate were allowed to sell the dinners. Each dinner sold for $7.00 a piece. We arranged for the dinners to be completed, and they would be ready for pick-up after 11:00 that morning at the new softball fields. It was extremely hard work the girls, coaches, parents, and everyone who donated their time. It did pay off because most of the items such as the food itself and the tea was donated which allowed for the team to earn straight profit. Everyone made sure that each purchaser was to receive a hot meal quickly. Payments were taken in advance or at the gate. They all did very well.
