Calendar Fundraiser for Elementary School

by Haley

I am co-president at my daughter's elementary school. Our district offers two great fundraisers that involve calendars. We use the funds we make for various cultural arts events throughout the school year. The first thing we offer is a pocket edition of the large wall calendar that every family gets by mail before school starts. This enables parents to keep a version of the calendar with them at all times. We charge 5.00 a calendar and the parents love them.

Another idea is to make a large version of the yearly calendar on oaktag. People purchase a date on the calendar for 5.00 a box. When the calendar is filled up with a name on each date of the year, we hold a drawing to pick one date. That person wins 300.00 and the PTA makes 1200.00.

online fundraising is pretty fun and easy too

I like the idea for a drawing especially (although wouldn't it be nice if the parents just donated it back :D?). I like the calendars by mail idea too because then you don't have to do door-to-door and it's inexpensive enough that no one would really have too much trouble helping out with $5.

Our school uses this really great online fundraising toolbar from www.give2network.com. It's great because we ask parents to ask family and friends to use the toolbar and our school earns money from all searching and shopping. It's free to use and we get paid every month :D.
