Calendar Fundraiser for Lacrosse
(Greensburg, PA)
I took on the responsibility of organizing fundraisers to earn money towards our budget for such things as travel, equipment, paying for refs, etc. It was one of my athletes ideas to make a calendar. The calendar would include action shots of our games and practices, and even some goofy shots of the girls just hanging out to make it more personal.
We marked all of our games and scrimmages on the calendar, included a full schedule on a single page, and player profiles. We assumed most of the sales would go to parents and maye some friends. We didn't need a ton of sales since using the schools resources made putting the whole thing together extremely cheap.
In order to increase profit, and this was the most successful part of the calendar in that aspect, we went around town in groups and asked local business if they wanted to place advertisements in our calendar. We charged $75 for a full page and $45 for a half page. We ended up with about 25 sponsors.
We had 25 girls on the team, each of whom was responsible for selling 5 calendars each. Some sold even more than that. At $20 a calendar we ended making quite a profit.
