Candle Fundraiser Surprise

My wife and my Mother decided that for our Church fundraiser it would be a great idea to sell candles right around Christmas time last year to help support the growing childrens programs in our Church home. I wasnt so sure this was a good idea as I was voting to sell candy bars, and or sub sandwiches. Needless to say, I lost and candles are what were chosen to sell.

The candles sold Wonderfully! My wife and mother were right. We sold candles during the months of November and December last year making it the perfect gift for people to buy for their family and friends for the Holidays. We posted "Ads" in our church bulletin and even placed an ad in the local paper that to raise money for our church Sunday School programs and etc. that we were asking our Church family and local community to buy and light at least one candle for a loved one you had lost, and other candles to share with those still in our lives for that Christmas.

This worked amazingly! We raised so much money for our Sunday School program and etc. that we even remodeled parts of the church basement to make it a much nicer area for all involved with the Childrens programs. It was an amazing success.
