Candy Fundraising for Church

(New Jersey)

I remember doing fundraising for our church in Middlesex County, New Jersey when my children were small. We had to sell candy from Gertrude Hawk Chocolates. The envelopes would be given out to the children in their CCD class.

By the time they came home that day, they had picked out which candy they wanted me to buy. My son wanted the sports-themed (such as baseball-shaped) chocolates. My daughter wanted the pretty ballerina shoe-shaped chocolates. My husband wanted the white chocolates. I wanted the peanut-clusters.

We might have sold 2 or 3 more orders (2 grandmas, and the next-door neighbor), and that was probably our whole order. We never won top prize for selling the most candy, but we sure did enjoy our goodies!
