Candy Fundraising The Firemen's Way.

When i was young i helped my uncle's fire station raise money for UNICEF in a really fun way. My family was visiting my uncle one year around the time of their UNICEF charity drive and asked my family to join in on the fun.

The fire station had a really clever way to get donations for their charity; they gave candy away.

We went door to door with boxes the charity had provided and each carried a big bag of penny candy the fire station donated. When someone answered the door we gave them a couple of pieces of free candy and then told them about the charity and asked for donations. A lot of the people would give us several dollars for a couple of pieces of candy. We had to stop back at the fire house several times to get more boxes and fill up on candy.

My uncles fire house the biggest donation to UNICEF in the area and received a letter of appreciation as well as a certificate to hang on the fire house wall.

We had a really good time passing out the candy and my uncle was very proud of us. think my uncles fire station had a real hot idea with their candy give away fundraiser.
