Change for Chocolate

by Lauren
(Canada)

My daughter's school had a fundraiser where we sold chocolate to raise money for a school playground. Each bar of chocolate cost only a dollar and it was a easy way to spend loose change and buy a delicious treat to support this cause that would make a lot of kids happy.

The school had a policy that discouraged door to door selling for safety reasons and so the students were asked to ask for contributions among friends and family. There was a great prize for the class that had raised the most, a trip to the chocolate factory where another parent worked.

Students sold at their churches, sports teams and other places where people would need a snack. We raised about $9 500 and it really helped support the school and its facilities.
