Cheering for Our Cookie Dough Fundraiser
Cheerleading was a big part of our middle school days. Everyone wanted to be a cheerleader, not only for the popularity, but for the events that we were involved in.
I remember one distinct event. It was our cookie dough fundraiser. All of the girls, including myself, got into that kitchen and prepared many different types of cookies. If it wasn't for the grocery store around the corner, we wouldn't have many cookies left as we always tended to get a little out of hand. You know, one girl would eat some cookie dough and another girl would throw a piece at her telling her to knock it off. Since the cookie dough had been thrown, everyone would end up chipping in with the fun.
Honestly, it was a really good experience, but nothing equaled to seeing everyone's facial expressions when we were done. Everyone knew we wanted to raise enough money to purchase new uniforms, so when the time came to sell, we achieved all we could have every hoped for.
Of course most of the money was from the school kids itself, but it was still nice to know we were doing the best we could to raise money for our little special cause.
