Christian Fundraiser: Where to Start
You've been assigned the arduous task of managing your Christian fundraiser. And now you have lots of questions:
- Where do we start?
- Where do we find good fundraising ideas?
- Which fundraising ideas are the best?
- How many volunteers will we need to run the fundraising campaign?
- Should we hold a large event like a walk-a-thon or a flea market?
- Should we sell products instead, or as an add-on to the event? And if so, which products and where is a good place to buy them?
- Is there a Christian fundraising idea that doesn't require so much work and time?
There are lots of questions to answer and a mesmerizing number of fundraising ideas from which to choose. Some are simple. Some aren't.
To help you decide, think about the goals you'd like to achieve with your fundraiser. Do you want to build fellowship and group interaction, or is the primary goal raising money?
If money is the main goal, then we recommend choosing something that makes money fast and has less hassle factor.
Scratchcards are a good choice because they can be used by any size group, large or small and you don't have to get pledges, take orders, or store and deliver products. You collect the money right at the point of sale.
Magazines have many of the same benefits, but have the added feature of regular, annual sales. You can go back to the same customers, year after year to renew their subscriptions.
Be sure to read our list of top fundraisers too. We'll be adding to them as new ideas come in, so check back often.
