Community Center Candy Fundraiser Competition

(MD)

In the Summer of 2007 I was employed with Glass Manor Community center where I helped with summer programs and day to day activities.

I was in charge of the fundraiser program only a few times, but when I worked with the children we accomplished our goal. The children were ages nine through thirteen.

I sold candy merchandise. Our Goal was five hundred by the end of the month. I did not want to make the kids work too hard, so I proceeded to try a different approach. I asked the assistant principal and my partner that ran the summer programs as well for a cookout with water balloons and other fun activities. I thought of the plan to have plenty of kids and I would sell plenty of candy.

I was surprised how it turned out, I had the other team that was competing in sales, selling all their candy. I was proud because everyone benefited.
