Cookie Dough for Disabled Children at Local Youth Centres
by Felix Whiddington
(England)
Our cookie dough fundraiser was a magical time in which many partook. Me and my assistant Jemma Samia Ayesha Lloyd first had the idea over the christmas period, when we visited the local youth centre for disabled children aged 7-16 in Hayling Island, England. Seeing their faces as they enjoyed playing games which included pool, ping-pong and table soccer gave us the idea that fundraising could entitle them to more table orientated games.
Our experience making and selling cookies was a great success and we raised a grand total of £181, which we donated to "Disablor" (registered charity 15874). Because of our acheivement we were able to donate a new pool table and a new soccer table which was named in our honour.
