Cookie Kids Fundraiser

Last year we had to earn money for a church group to travel to camp. We had 46 children to pay for, so we had to come up with a way to earn money. We decided to do a cookie sale. We didn't purchase the cookies; each child had to make three dozen cookies and bring them. They could be any type of cookie and decorated in any way.
For undecorated cookies, we placed 3 -4 of them in cupcake holders and wrapped them. For decorated cookies, we wrapped each one. They each had a ribbon and a small card about our church youth group.
The weekend before, we asked that all the children dress up like cookies. Some had boxes with cookies painted on them, other had big chocolate chip cookie cut outs, and some just looked melted!
We organized our sale outside our local shopping center. We put posters and signs up three days before the sale. Each kid was given a basket full of cookies. They walked through the lots, and stood at the doors and sold lots of cookies. People just laughed and laughed. We had kids as young as two out there dressed like cookies and selling. The kids had so much fun.
We did put an adult with each group (this was two -three kids) just for safety measure since there were moving vehicles and strangers.
The kids did cookie dances and cookie songs.
People who didn't buy the cookies gave money for all the effort that the kids put into it.
We raised a good bit of money, and the kids had a great time. They were in the local paper, and people talked for days about the cookie kids. It was a great adventure.
