Cookies for a Cause

I have been involved in two cookie dough fund raisers and, as you said in your blog, they are an easy way to raise funds. Any fundraiser in which people get something practical for their donation is going to get a lot of support. And unlike pizza, or subs, or other foods, if people don't eat cookies, that cookie dough is always great to have around when company comes.
Both fundraisers were successful because the parents felt that the product was practical, not that expensive, and easily marketed. We did one at Christmas and one at Easter. The Christmas one was done before Thanksgiving so buyers could have fresh cookies for that Thanksgiving Dinner and potential gifts for Christmas. And we used this as part of our marketing tool.
We checked out a couple of fundraising companies and found that those that just sold cookie dough were much friendlier and open to work with. We used cookie dough as a prize - sell 20 get one for yourself. This was great because parents really helped push the product so they could get some for themselves without paying.
We intend to use the cookie dough fund raiser in the future. People are already telling us they have finished with what they bought and are ready to buy more. Who are we to say no to this easy and helpful way to raise funds.
