Cunning Students Raise Money for Prom with Rubber Bracelet Fundraiser

When I was a member of my high school's student council, we had to come up with many fundraising ideas. One of the most successful fundraisers we had involved selling rubber bracelets. We used the profits from this to help pay for our Junior/Senior Prom.

My school had a school spirit week in which students from each grade competed against each other. Students had things they could do to earn points, and the grade with the most points at the end of spirit week won a pizza party. Students could earn points for things like wearing school colors or participated in spirit day themes. We decided to sell rubber bracelets as part of Spirit Week.

We ordered rubber bracelets in each of our school's colors, red and white. Each bracelet had our school's name and team name imprinted on it. We began selling these bracelets for $2.00 each the week before Spirit Week began, and continued to sell them throughout. If the students were seen wearing the bracelet when spirit points were tallied in homeroom, they would get additional points towards their grade's total.

Before the week was over, we had completely sold out of bracelets and raised hundreds of dollars. The following schoolyear, we tried selling the bracelets before football and basketball games and they were a hit once again. Although I have since graduated, I hope that my school's student council will continue to use rubber bracelets to raise money for our school.

Rubber bracelets are an excellent way to raise money because they are inexpensive for your supporters and highly lucrative at the same time. These rubber wrist bands have the added benefit of raising awareness for your cause long after your event is over.
