Dance Camp Fundraiser

My daughter's dance company attended a dance camp every summer. One summer, the camp was going to be cancelled due to lack of funds. The dancers were so upset by this, they decided to do a fundraiser to get the money for the camp. My daughter and I came up with the idea to sell old costumes, leotards, makeup, shoes, and music to the new dancers entering the school. Non-competition dancers don't realize how quickly they will go through shoes and outfits, and new competition dancers who need solo costumes get sticker shock when choosing them.

We thought this would be a great way for everyone new to the studio to take part in the team effort it was known for.

To encourage interest, we took pictures of the girls in their costumes from different competitions, and showed prices of each item if it was new. Parents could see the savings right away, and kids got excited seeing all the choices before them!

In the end, we raised the $150.00 per child it cost to attend the camp. There were ten girls attending.
