Fund Raiser For A Cafe In The College

I study in CCET, Panjab University, India and I'm doing a graduation course. Since the very first day of the college I have noticing that the canteen was in a bad shape and it was the only source in the college that provided the mid day meal, except for the mess.

Being the representative of my class I decided to put up the topic at the monthly meet of teachers and the representatives. So I did and the teachers appreciated my idea of a new café which I proposed in that meeting. But the path was not easy. My idea was turned down by the principal saying that it is not a worthy idea and the college would not provide funds for it. I asked him if he could talk to the authorities again to which he didn’t listen. So I just asked him for his permission for the idea and told him my plan of fund raising to which he agreed.

So I, joining the other representatives took up the initiative and put up a notice on the notice board stating all the affairs. More over we asked for suggestions on fund raising. Some said that the required funds were impossible to collect but we didn’t give up so easily.

We asked everyone to contribute even the teachers and the principal. After the final collection we realized that we actually were no where near to the required amount. We were disappointed a bit but I was still thinking. Then suddenly an idea strikes my mind. With all the funds we have collected we came up with the idea of an open air café which required very little investment but we made it sure that the quality of food there was up to the mark. Our idea was accepted and today we have an open air café in the college. More over our principal recently said that funds might be passed for a closed café which is sufficient enough to cheer us up.
