Funding Fun

Our church was running a summer camp that would be a fun way to keep kids entertained over the holiday and also be education and develop cooperation and faith. Although most of our counselors kindly volunteered, the cost of running, organizing and supplying this camp was substantial. The camp had activities that were academic, involved team building or athletics.
For the camp to be beneficial to those less forutunate than us, the fundraiser helped subsidize some of the cost.
We sold on EBay baseballs that had been signed by a locally famous player in our congregation. We had advertisements and many gatherings with the player there. It was a great experience for people and kids to meet and look up to someone successful that they admired.
The best advice would be to involve the fundraiser in as many things as possible and diversify it. We made about $ 900 that really helped make things easier for a great camp !
