Fundraiser OnTrack With Lollipops!

by Emily

I was captain of the track team, we had just won our regional competition and we were headed to the state finals. We needed money for hotels, and we needed to pay to enter the meet. So we decided to sell lollipops, they were really good lollipops. They were the really round big ones that are flavored all the different flavors, mint choc. chip, tutti fruity, etc. This idea was chosen a few years ago when the team first made it to the state competition, the lollipops were easy to order at the last minute and at only 50 cents a pop they sold like crazy! We never really had to do anything to get people excited, instead we only sold them once a year when we made it to state competition. This meant that people were looking forward to them all year, so when we finally started selling them they were a hit! People would buy a full bag just so they could have some left over when we were done selling them. I think that it was an even bigger success because at my school a lot of the students rode a train to and from because it was an arts school. we all sold the lollipops on the train after school. After school everyone is hungry and has nothing better to do with their leftover lunch money so that's usually where it went.
