Fundraising for Christian Camps
My church will normally organize two camps every year, and in order to make sure absolutely everyone can go, we will try to organize different kinds of sales and activities that will help us cover any other extra fees for the camps.
Some of the activities include, amateur soccer, basketball and football tournaments in which there is a small fee to pay in order to be part of a team. During these events, you will find bake sales, hot dog stands and other food sales that assure a regular income throughout the day aside from the sports activities.
There are other ways to raise funds like organizing a music concert involving church members as part of the music group, that way you can charge an entrance fee. A similar approach would be creating a "movie day", in which movies will be projected. The entrance could be free, but the popcorn will have a small fee. If absolutely everyone buys popcorn then you will definitely accumulate a significant amount of money.
It is important to make sure that all fundraising events are fun and won't just become an excuse to gather money. Make it entertaining and make sure everyone benefits from these events. This way not only will you be creating pleasant memories to those assisting these events, but also you will be helping others who are in a real need of spiritual healing.
