Golf Events Fundraiser

Each year we hold a golf outing for the local boy scout / cub scout organization. In our case it is the local Keystone council. It is held at a local country club with a dinner held afterward. There is also a silent auction for some gifts that are donated by local business. It's successful because we involve local business leadership which helps spread word of mouth. Many of these folks are also candidates for volunteers.

Here are some tips: get the word out early, create an email, direct mail list. Make sure that you get volunteers to do follow up calling for both attendees and donors. Say thank you; we take photos of each golf group and mail them to each participant in a thank you card. We raise 8,000-10,000 dollars each year.
