Grandma's Secrets

I recently participated in a fundraiser for my grandmother's social group. She belongs to a social Club called The Active Grannies. Their group gets together usually once a week to participate in fun activities. They were looking to raise money to help fund some of their outings, which include going bowling, to the beach, museums. She came to me for help because she knows I have run several fundraisers for things my children are involved in.
After several conversations, we narrowed down our choices to have something to do with baking or cooking, since most of the ladies love to cook. We ended up deciding to make a cookbook with a collection of their favorite recipes.
We decided against a bake sale because it would have to take place all at once on a particular day. With making a cookbook the ladies could sell them at their leisure, most often to family members, friends and neighbors. Also, it could be ongoing and we could always easily have more books printed up if they wanted to continue selling them.
We titled the book Grandma's Secrets and each participant submitted 2 or 3 of their favorite recipes. My grandmother and I edited the submissions to make sure there weren't any duplicates. We took it to a local store to have them bound and distributed them out to the ladies.
I didn't get the final totals, because it was an ongoing project but we sold the books at $20 and printed a total of 75. The whole project was a huge success and we are now in the process of making a second edition of their cookbook.
