Magazine fundraiser for After-Prom

In the school that I work in in Cleveland, Ohio, our parent/teacher association puts on a special event for the students that attend prom each year called "after prom". What this does is offer kids a safe and fun environment to come to after the prom to hopefully stop kids from drinking or doing anything that may get them in trouble. The event is sponsored and paid for by the parents and teachers, so fundraising is a must! One year we decided to do a magazine drive as we figured that most people already enjoy reading magazines and would like to subscribe for a worthwhile cause. We went door to door in our neighborhoods and really put the word out for what we were selling and why. We also went to events like soccer and football games for the school and had a stand to sell subscriptions. We didn't raise all of the money that we needed, but we certainly did very well. The majority of sales came from the door to door inquiries, if you can believe that!
