Men In The Kitchen

I have been involved in a number of fund raising projects for schools, Little Leage, boy scouts, girls scouts etc. All good causes but mostly on the sales and distribution end of the project.
Several of my friends and I were talking about a family vacation together and decided that we would try to raise money by creating and selling our own cookbook. We all cook for our families, not just BBQ.
We spent about a month gathering "our" recipes, discussed which one's to include in the book, the format of each page, and the number of recipes to be in the book.
The next step was the design of the cover and the pages.
We decided to show have drawing of a man cooking in a kitchen with all types of pots, pans and utensils on a counter as the cover.
There were 44 pages in the bound book., which we produced on an office computer and copier. It had a professional appearance.
The book was a huge success and we sold over 300 copies, to friends, associates, other parents ..male and female, and at sporting events we were coaching or attending. Our families were a great aid in the sales.
We enjoyed the experience and the vacation together.
The amount of money we raised was over $1,200.
The best advice I can offer is to just do and enjoy the experience.
