Middle School Magazine Fundraising

My middle school did a huge magazine fundraiser each year. The money was used for extra stuff that we got to do (e.g. dances and field trips). I think that it's success was caused by a couple of things. First there was the opening assembly. When the fundraiser was going to start a man came from the company that really did a good job at pumping us up. He would give people prizes that the rest of us would be able to earn by selling more magazines. After the assembly all of us kids would be really excited to start selling. Another great thing that made it successful is that if we made our goal we would get another dance that year. The one con that people would run into was that magazines are a little more expensive than other fundraisers so people have a harder time giving that amount of money sometimes. This can be helped if you run the same fundraiser at the same time of year each year. That way people's magazine subscription renewal times sync up with when you are selling new subscriptions. I think this definitely helped my middle school out a lot.
