M&M's sold like hotcakes!
(cleveland, ohio)
Our choral director wanted to have a fundraiser to get money to send his students in the chorus to sing in New York City for their Christmas extravaganza. To do this, we decided that selling candy would be the way to go.
We tried a number of candies, things like Everlasting Gobstoppers, Sprees, and Runts, but they were not selling very well.
Two weeks later, we still had not made a dent in much of what we were selling. We decided to poll the student body to find out what candies they would be more willing to buy. We found that chocolate was a best seller and that M&M's
were the tops of the list.
As soon as we sold the candy we had committed to buying, we signed on to sell the chocolate candy and sold so much of it the first week, we had to call in orders for many more boxes.
We raised enough money so that the children in the chorus only had to spend 25.00 out of pocket for the entire trip!
