Our Church Strip Ticket Fund Raiser

by Sheri

In my younger years, our youth group use to have little fund raisers such as selling candy bars, car washes and performing skits with refreshments on the side. These were great experiences for us to learn about raising money just to have a youth outing for fun. We raised a good bit of money usually somewhere in the $300.00 range.

As an adult, some of us women of the church got together to have a meeting about coming up with a plan to raise some money for some new equipment for our church. We didn't do the scratchcard fundraiser but we did the strip ticket fundraiser which is similar.

One of the ladies announced the plan to the church and asked that everyone get involved by donating a food dish and gift prizes. Once we had the support of the whole church, we printed up flyers and hung them everywhere to let people of communities know that there was a $1.00 strip ticket sell for prizes and FREE FOOD! When people hear about free food, they usually come flocking like a bunch of crows.

Surprisingly, A lot of people showed up at the gathering we setup at the baseball park and alot of people bought a ticket. We had some great prizes that were donated from companies that were worth more than a buck so no one was complaining for putting out $1.00 for a ticket. Some even bought 10 and 20 tickets!

All in all, we raised almost $2,000 to upgrade our music sound system equipment!

Did you know scratch card fundraisers have among the biggest returns for fundraising products? Moreover, as there are no order forms or items to deliver, scratch cards are one of the easiest ways to raise money too.
