Pieing our Band Director from Candy Fundraiser Success

My high school marching band was trying to go to the Orange Bowl. To raise money and subsidize the trip cost, so more people would be able to go regardless of their financial situation, we decided to sell candy. We sold Mars products - M&Ms, Snickers, etc.

We sold to our family, neighbors, and peers at school. It was pretty successful, but to boost sales even more our band director agreed to have some fun if we met a certain limit.

If we reached some number of dollars in profit, he agreed to let us pie him - multiple times, which basically equates to a whipped cream bath! We loved our director, but oh boy, was that a motivator.

We exceeded the goal and had a lot of fun pieing him after practice one day, and went on to have a great Orange Bowl trip.
