Visitor contributions and fundraising ideas

Profitable Recycling Fundraiser

When I was a sophomore in high school, we raised money for the local retirement home in the area. Collectively as a class we were able to raise $3,000 for new wheelchairs. We gathered 60,000+ cans/bottles at the local boys and girls club.

To get the word out, we decided to post signs at the cityhall, courthouse, school office, department of motor vehicles, and many other commonly visited areas (mostly government owned).

It seemed to be a big hit in the urban parts of town, becuase not only was it for a good cause, but recycling bottles and cans helps out the environment. It made it a lot easier to do the fundraiser when we had the support of the local city officials and the local schoolhouse.

Although it seemed like an impossible task at the time, we were very enthusiastic, which made it a lot more entertaining. Enthusiasm also played a key role in gaining and maintaining the interest of other to participate.

I had a great time and I would be more than happy to do it again.
