PTO Bake Sale

by Rachael
(Brighton, CO USA)

The Parent-Teacher Organization at my son's elementary school is trying to raise funds for class parties, fairs, and for some teacher's supplies.

The first bake sale of the year was quite a success for the PTO. Parents were encouraged to bake their favorite items, and they were brought to the school on the first day of Parent-Teacher-Student conferences to mark the end of the quarter.

There was a table set up right at the entrance of the school, where parents (and kids!) couldn't help but notice the wonderful treats beckoning to them from the table. Items were reasonably priced from fifty cents to a dollar, and we ended up raising just shy of $200, which is more than we bargained for!

It doesn't seem like a huge amount of money, but we were able to use that $200 to put together Halloween parties for 5 classrooms in the school. Overall, it was a success, and I am looking forward to baking more goodies for the next PTO bake sale!
