Raising Funds for Band

by Tracey
(Chicago, IL)

My school sold cookbooks to raise money for new band uniforms. We used family recipes from band members. We gathered about 100 recipes together. One of the band parents happened to own a printing company so we got them printed and bound for free. We had spiral binding and a cover that was covered in something so it was washable in case you spilled on it while using it in the kitchen.

We sold them around the holidays. They were $25.00 a piece. We also had a special that for $50.00 you could buy a 'basket' that included the cookbook and all the supplies needed to make a recipe out of it. There were 4 recipes to choose from. Those sold out right away.

We raised around $4,000. It was a lot of fun.
