Raising money for a lost friend

It was about two years ago now that we lost our friend Baron. He was stabbed at a hotel event when he was mistaken for another teenager. Baron died before he made it to the hospital.
It hurt alot of people, and everyone wanted to help in one way or another. Myself and members of his family decided to start a fund in his name to help fight violence in teens. We made silicone wrist bands saying "#5 RIP - Stop The Violence". The #5 was in reference to his football number.
We ended up raising about $1200 and donated it to a local anti-violence group. We had kids and parents from all over the county and neighboring counties buying the bracelets in support.
The greatest advice I can give to anyone is to get the word out, make sure everyone wears them, they'll be bought out quick and your money and quickly be donated.
