Raising Money for ALS with Raffle Fundraiser

Every year my family and friends do a Walk Against ALS in Virginia Beach. There are many ways to make money. Some of the ways we do it is by selling 50/50 raffle fundraiser tickets. Basically we found a cheap supplier of raffle tickets and broke them up into 50.
I sat down with everyone in my fundraising team and said whoever sells the most will win a $25.00 certificate to go out to eat, which I got off Restaurant.com for a fraction of the price. If you make it fun and set realistic goals you will be surprised how much you can make. I gave 50 tickets to each person. Then when they ran out I gave 25 more. We did the raffle once a month and the people won between 200-400 dollars. It is a good money maker and fun. We also do a raffle for some gift certificates which we get for half price off of a website and raffled them off. Everyone is willing to help if it is for a good cause.
We have done neighborhood car washes and garage sales. Making it fun and having a good time makes the time go by faster then you get to count the money that you earned for your cause when you are done. It is a win win situation.
