Raising Money for Battered Women

I had just started volunteering at an organization that helped battered women and their children. The organization is amazing they offer a lot of help for these families in need.

One of their facilities includes a boutique where women were able to choose cloths for job interviews or court appointments. The downside of this boutique was that it was drab and shabby. The lighting was awful and many of the clothes were in boxes.

I decided to do something about this. I spoke to the director and we came up with a fundraiser to remodel the boutique.

We had a party where we charged a $50 cover. We spoke to local businesses and they provided the food at no cost and even donated to our cause. We also held raffles for gift baskets and sold the tickets for $5 dollars.

At the end of the night we raised $3,000 for the new boutique. The boutique has been built and it is beautiful. It looks like a true boutique with a built in dressing room. The women love it and we do too.
