Raising Money with Christmas Ornaments

Every year our school has a bazaar to raise money for the the general budget. Over the years interest had begun to dwindle. In an effort to increase attendance at the bazaar and increase profits, we decided to have the children make and sell ornaments.

Each class was assigned an age appropriate but attractive craft. Each student make one ornament. Then the ornaments were tagged with "Made for you by (student's names). These ornaments were then sold at the bazaar. Of course, every child and their parent wanted their ornament so they came to the bazaar and bought it and while they were there, they bought other stuff too.

Of course the ornament has to be worth buying and not something parents could do on a Saturday afternoon at home.

I can't say exactly how much the ornaments made specifically but our bazaar makes between $3,000 - $5,000 a year, up significantly since we started the ornament activity.
