Recycling paper to Raise Money for Christian School

The first thing we did was send notices home to parents. We asked them to save all of their newspapers, and scrap paper. We then encourage them to drop their paper off in the recycling bin outside of the school. We made it very easy for parents to do this, because they have to drive by the bin on their way out of the school parking lot.
The next step in this process, was to put a small recycling bin in every classroom. All of the students now know to put all of their paper waste in this bin. This has been a huge success, as all of the teachers and students now participate.
At first we thought it would be difficult to collect 2,000 pounds of paper a month, but it really is easy. We use the money we raise to help fund the school (we are a private school). So it does not go for a specific purpose, but it is needed. We have also found that recycling has cut down on our dumpster expenses.
This is a very worthwhile fundraiser, and one I would really recommend!
