Shocking Magazine Fundraiser

Our church wanted to do a fundraiser recently for the victims of the Hatian earthquake, so we sent forms home with our youth group and Sunday school kids. The kids really took to it and got in the spirit of selling for a good cause. Because I have three kids in the youth group and try to stay involved, I volunteered to help organize the forms and money.

All went great and we raised over $1,000, which we planned to send to missionaries there. Unfortunately, a lot of our more religious members purchased Sports Illustrated for the first time in their lives. Many had somehow never gotten word of the annual swimsuit issue and unfortunately the first issue the received was the very scandalous (for them) issue. I walked in to youth group one Sunday and had a half dozen copies awaiting me in my mailbox from angry parishioners!
