Singing for Chocolate

I went door-to-door in my neighborhood and had my mom take some to work, and of course we carried the boxes around school. Everyone made a similar effort, but we still needed to sell a lot more candy if we were going to make our trip. We decided to sell them at our concert, figuring the attendees would be willing to help since admission is free.
It was a huge success! We were a little worried about the fact that it was mostly people who already knew we were raising money, but our teacher made an announcement before the show and we sold a ton of candy; people were even paying more than the $1 a bar charge. I guess maybe it was just the atmosphere of it actually being a choir event that helped people see how important this was!
