Student Government Cookie Dough Fundraiser

I'm a teacher at a school in Union County, and I'm also a moderator on the student council to help them out when they need it. Last year, some students at my school attempted a cookie dough fundraiser with the intent of raising money for their student government, to help make prom more affordable for the students that couldn't pay full price. We have a small school, so only about 60 kids were helping sell cookie dough. It worked very well, overall. The kids were motivated by the cause of helping others, and went to their parents, friends, and family to raise over $1000! To help motivate kids to sell as much product as possible, we offered two free prom tickets to the top seller when the sheets were handed in. The top seller from our fundraiser sold over $500 of the product alone!
I think the best several tips I have for cookie dough fundraisers are to get the kids involved. It is their fundraiser, after all, and adults are a lot more likely to buy from a kid selling product than a parent representing them. If the kids are encouraged, the buyers will come in and product will move really quickly. You can do this!
