True Effort Is The Key

We use the money we raise from the chocolate for field trips, and the fifth grade graduation party at the end of the year. Every year it seems that we improve greatly with the money we raise. Every year there is also a contest for the child that can raise the most money with the fundraiser in their grade level. The prizes vary from bikes to stereo systems; however, they never fail to increase the children’s enthusiasm to raise money for their school.
In order to get the children hyped up, we have an assembly to inform them about fundraising and the prizes they can win.
In order to make the fundraiser a success we always provide safety tips at the assembly as well. Some of the tips include never go door to door, never sell without an adult, and never sell chocolate to strangers.
Selling chocolate is a great fundraising idea because almost everyone enjoys a sweet treat once in a while. However, there are those certain individuals who choose not to eat chocolate but are generous enough to donate money instead. I believe this feeling of generosity is what keeps the children’s enthusiasm as well.
Another great idea that makes the fundraiser even more successful is the effort generated from the teachers. When teachers give every student a piece of candy or prize for participating, no child feels left out which is extremely essential to the child’s development. It’s the effort from the staff, students, and parents that make fundraisers a true success.
In the end we raised a total of $3,000 dollars to fund the activities for the students.
